Banaue
The Eighth Wonder of the World
Why Visit Banaue?
The Banaue and Batad rice terraces are 2,000+ years old, hand-carved by the Ifugao people into the Cordillera mountainsides. Laid end to end the terraces would wrap halfway around the planet. Banaue is the gateway town; Batad is the more dramatic cluster (1-hour jeepney + 30-minute hike). Both are UNESCO inscribed (under threat) and impossible to forget.
